As you probably know we are working with a product environmentally friendly. We are trying to make some effort where it's possible to follow this idea. That's why i just wanted to share with you the possibility to use recycled plastic for your SIM. Indeed the card itself but particularly all the useless surface around the SIM could be reused. Or at least come from a second life of the material.
Thank you
Best regards

Dear Maurin,
SIM cards are industrial products: it means that it takes several months to get the production of the first lot after the start of the product design and development.
If you have recently received any of our newest SIM, you noticed that they come with half-sized plastic frame. While working on defining this new SIM we took the decision for the first big move, to reduce by 50% the plastic consumption.
But yes, it is still not recycled plastic.
We are already working on the next SIM, along with our suppliers, and we are also evaluating the plastic material to be used.
Considering that our SIM are mainly intended for IoT and M2M appliances we must be 100% sure that physical features fully comply to the industrial standards, and when it comes to consider a new material initial evaluations and test musts be even more accurate.
This is what we are doing now: accurately designing and rigorously testing.
Based on the results, our next “big thing” could likely be made of recycled plastic.
Best Regards.

I hope that special attention is made to the durability of any replacement of materials. The deteriation of SIM cards that requires any form of device serving is highly likely to lead to a much higher environmental impact than that which is saved by changes in the materials of the SIM card.
There is a current popular trend at looking at plastics, which is worthy of attention. However, I am confident that the enviromental impact of using EMnify SIMs is far more than just the plastic of those SIMs.
I encourage EMnify to also look at all the other sources of environmental impact the business has, such as data centre energy consumption, office buildings, remote working, commuting to work and client visits.
