Automatic sim activation

It would be very usefull for us to have a "selfactivation" option on our sim cards. Working in Motorsport we turn off every month all our sim cards and then in the following month we activate the ones we are going to use according to the calendar. Some of your competitors (kpn) offer the option of a "selfactivation" as soon as the device with that sim card is switched on. That would avoid us the required planning in advance and would make some last minute need easier to manage, especially on the field.

Exactly the SIM state "factory test mode" is available.
A SIM in "factory test mode" is pre-activated but will not incur monthly charges until 100kB or 10 SMS are consumed (this is the default - but also a 1MB option is available). This allows you to test the device connectivity in the factory, put the device on the shelf without paying any fee and once the device is at the end customer and being used - the SIM will move to the "active" state and become chargeable.
Once the SIM state is changed to "active" it cannot be reset to factory test - therefore the use case to have a monthly self-activation is not possible.

We need the same, and we use something similar with other providers: SIMs have a state: "Ready for activation". On that state, they are enabled and allowed to communicate, but are not "billable". The automatically become "activated" once the are connected for the first time. This is important for having devices in stock, that will be selled / activated months later
