Hardware IMEI Now Available in Portal & API

We’ve heard your feedback! Managing devices just got easier—you can now use Hardware IMEI across the emnify Portal and API.

What’s New?

Hardware IMEI in the Portal & API:
Identify devices using the IMEI printed on your hardware.
IMEI Filtering:
Search and manage devices using Hardware IMEI [with check digit], with SV, and without check digit.
IMEI in Device Details and in Plain View:
View the Hardware IMEI directly in the Device Details section or in PLAIN VIEW in Connected devices.

Why This Matters

Previously, our system displayed a different IMEI with SV, making it difficult to match devices, which you mentioned in your feedback to us. Now, you can locate and manage devices using the same IMEI you reference in your internal systems — eliminating confusion and simplifying fleet management.

How to Get Started

In the Portal: Go to the Connected Devices page and filter devices using IMEI or check updated device details.
In the API: Retrieve and search for devices based on Hardware IMEI.
