Advanced Tag management functionality now available

We’ve just released Advanced Tags, a

full redesign of the Tags experience in both the UI and API

. This update makes it much easier to organize large device fleets, keep data consistent, and power automations based on tags.

What’s new

Tag list with counters:
see a central list of all tags in the workspace, with device counts.

Bulk tag creation & removal:
add new tags by selecting them, or remove tags by deselecting them from multiple devices.

Central tag editing:
change tag names and tag label colors in one place for multiple devices at once.

Improved search & filtering:
multi-tag search with Exact combination (AND) toggle.

Automations with tags:
use tags as automation targets; device counts auto-update as tags change, plus never more typos while typing tag names.

Tags in reports filtering:
consistent tags filtering with exact combination and list of all tags available inside your workspace is supported by embedded reports

New Tags API:
designed to support multiple new capabilities.

Impact on your existing setup

All your existing tags and tag assignments remain intact
Your existing automations and reports that use tags continue to work, now benefiting from the improved tag handling
There is no action required to start using the new UI features – they are live in your workspace today

Important: The old string-based tag usage in endpoints API will be deprecated in the coming year. Nothing changes for your existing integrations today, but we recommend planning a migration to the new API. We’ll share a dedicated announcement with timelines, migration guidance, and examples soon.
